Junior Estimator

HOMRICH has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. In an effort to continue to support our current clientele, we are looking for a Junior Estimator for our Carleton, Michigan office.

Requirements:

  • Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred
  • Ideal candidate will be energetic, creative and a hardworking professional

Responsibilities:

  • To actively search out, quantify, estimate, negotiate and select projects
  • Ability to use Onscreen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Evernote will be required in the daily functions
  • Individual will be working in a fast-paced environment, must be a self-starter and be able to work independently
  • Individual will be traveling to job sites throughout the Midwest and will be working with a Senior Estimator throughout the bidding process

The position is located in Carleton, MI and requires approximately 25% travel.


Project Manager

HOMRICH has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. We are seeking a qualified Project Engineer/Asst. Project Manager. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated individual who is interested in working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Must have 3 to 4 years of experience in supervising demolition projects
  • Must be able to analyze problems and make sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications, and costs
  • Proven Construction Management experience
  • Must possess strong written, oral, critical thinking and organization skills
  • Accounting experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of construction/demolition activities
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with safe, quality workmanship that conforms to the original work plan and specifications
  • Maintain a positive relationship with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately
  • Maintain direct communication with the main office as necessary to report job progress, injuries, accidents, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain all required field documentation: e.g., daily sign in sheets, daily reports, incident reports, tool box safety sign in sheets

Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to handle our company’s select procurement activities. The purchasing manager’s responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the management of purchase orders/ordering of supplies.

To be successful as a Purchasing Manager you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes. An outstanding purchasing manager should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to find and negotiate the best possible deals with our suppliers.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar position
  • Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or purchasing software

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
  • Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.
  • Reviews and processes purchase orders.
  • Managing daily purchasing activities.
  • Managing supplier relations, prices, timelines, etc.
  • Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
  • Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
  • Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
  • Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

Service Manager

HOMRICH has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. We are seeking a qualified Service Manager. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated individual who is interested in working in a fast- paced environment.

Requirements:

  • 5 Years of experience managing a Repair Facility
  • Must have a strong working knowledge regarding the safe handling and repair of all types of heavy equipment, tractors, trailers, hydraulics, fabrication, electrical systems, body repairs, parts, and supplies,
  • Self-starter and be able to motivate Staff
  • Good communication and written skills

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the mechanics and Repair Facility employees to ensure repairs are made on time
  • Work with Mechanics to oversee the ordering of necessary parts and/or supplies for the repairs and/or maintenance of machines and equipment
  • Ensure that adequate repairs are being made at the Repair Facility and on the Jobsites

Tractor/Trailer Mechanic

HOMRICH has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. We are seeking a qualified Tractor/Trailer Mechanic. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated individual who is interested in working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, hydraulics, suspensions, air brakes, fabrication, electrical systems, body repairs, trailer parts, and supplies, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license with a Class A CDL A endorsement
  • Welding experience 

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and perform preventative maintenance on all tractor and trailers including:
    • Diagnosing equipment malfunctions (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic)
    • Diagnosing mechanical failures and determine how to fix them
  • Repair and replace brakes, adjusting and aligning wheels, tightening bolts and screws, and reassembling equipment
  • Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining trailers, mechanical equipment, and machinery, such as breaks, tires and suspension
  • Perform safety inspections on tractors and trailers making sure that documentation required by the FMCSA, DOT, Federal, State and local regulations is adequate
  • Interpret work orders and technical manuals while working closely with the Shop Manager

Truck Driver

Requirements:

  • Experience driving tractors and trailers preferably in the demolition industry
  • Have a clean driving record
  • Have a good attendance record and are able to work long hours as necessary
  • Have an understanding of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • The ability to perform basic mathematics skills
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude with a “whatever it takes” mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to complete tasks independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to work in various seasonal temperatures and conditions
  • Experience with Microsoft applications is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Transport demolition materials to local landfills, steel mills, and other destinations
  • Perform routine daily inspections of assigned trucks and trailers
  • Work with the Transportation Manager to ensure that routine maintenance is performed on assigned trucks and trailers
  • Prepare and submit daily log reports along with load and time tickets
  • Keep assigned equipment clean and organized
  • Low Boy, Lead, 5-Axle, Doubles, Etc.
